An Easy Mango Raspberry Smoothie

It’s nice to have some super quick and easy recipes that can be put together with minimal thought and can be ready in a matter of minutes, like this simple mango raspberry smoothie. We like to have plenty of these recipes available for breakfasts especially.

We prep breakfast as often as we can the evening before (usually smoothies during the week) so all we have to do is blend them up in the morning. This doesn’t always happen, however, and so some mornings we put something together right then. There never seems to be enough time in the morning, so usually we dump some frozen fruit in the Vitamix, add some banana and coconut water or nut milk, and blend it up. Some of these smoothies end up being just okay, but some of them turn out really special. Today we’re bringing you one of the best ones we’ve made; our simple Mango Raspberry Smoothie.

We’ve fallen in love with smoothies for breakfast over the last several years. It’s a great way to get fruits first thing in the morning as well as other great nutrients (you can get some good greens into your diet in the morning by sneaking them in smoothies as well).

This Raspberry Mango Smoothie couldn’t be easier to put together and is full of great fruit flavor. It features only 4 ingredients, is loaded up with fruit for a great start to the morning, and is ready in minutes. It makes a perfect healthy vegan breakfast recipe. These ingredients are staples in our house, so it’s as easy as grabbing the ingredients out, pouring them in the Vitamix, and blending them up.

Why We Love This Mango Raspberry Smoothie Recipe

This easy breakfast smoothie is the perfect combination of raspberry and mango. The brightness and tartness of the raspberries goes wonderfully with the tropical mango flavor and seems to take away some of the edge off of the raspberries. A banana lends some creaminess to the smoothie and the coconut water helps it all blend up while added in some natural electrolytes. It all comes together wonderfully in this raspberry mango smoothie breakfast. It’s a delicious breakfast full of bright flavors to jump start your morning.

Smoothies are a breakfast favorite of ours. We tend to pack our days pretty full so smoothies give us flexibility to eat them while we’re finishing getting ready for the day, while we’re starting our work day, or while on the go in a smoothie tumbler running errands or heading to work.

If you’re someone who likes advance prep, this smoothie works perfectly as part of a smoothie prep day. If you’ve never done one of these before, I highly encourage it. Load up on fruit and spend some time portioning out several smoothies into freezer bags. You can add all ingredients except liquids into the bags. Make sure you label the bags so you can easily tell what smoothie it is, make a note on the bag of any liquids that will need to be added when you make it, and then stick them all in the freezer.

I recommend pulling a smoothie freezer bag out the night before and putting it in the fridge. In the morning, just dump it all in your Vitamix or high speed blender, add in any liquids, blend it up, and enjoy! This is also a great way to use up ripe fruit before it goes bad; just chop or clean and prep it and make up a few smoothie bags with it. Over ripe bananas make perfect ingredients to add to smoothie freezer bags, or you can just peel them and freeze them in a ziploc to add to smoothies down the road!

Let’s make an easy vegan Mango Raspberry Smoothie!

This smoothie really is so simple; just add ingredients to the blender and blend it all until smooth and combined. If you have a high speed blender like a Blendtec or Vitamix, it should make quick work of the frozen fruit, although I recommend adding in the coconut water and the banana first; this seems to give the blades some to work with and blends up the frozen fruit better that way. If you don’t have a high speed blender, you can use fresh fruit or thaw the fruit overnight in the fridge or in the microwave for a bit to make this raspberry mango smoothie easier to blend up. It won’t have the same consistency if using fresh or thawed fruit, but it is still delicious!

We enjoy this healthy mango raspberry smoothie frequently for breakfast, but it also makes a great afternoon snack or evening treat. It’s especially enjoyable as the weather starts to get warmer, so feel free to pour yourself a glass of this and sit out on the back porch one warm summer evening. I may have to experiment with adding some alcohol to this recipe for a boozy frozen beverage. Stay tuned; I’ll get back to you with my results!
