Description
Make up this delicious apple pie oatmeal today and get a jump start on fall! It’s quick and easy to make and is bursting with great apple and pecan flavors!
Ingredients
Scale
Oats
- 1C rolled oats
- 2C water
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- ½ tsp cloves
- pinch of salt
- 1 Tbsp maple syrup (added after cooking)
Apple Pie Topping
- 2 fuji apples, chopped
- ½ C golden raisins
- 3 Tbsp maple syrup
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- ½ tsp cloves
- pinch of salt
Pecans
- ½ C Pecans, chopped
Instructions
For the Pecans
- Preheat oven to 350F.
- Spread chopped pecans on baking sheet; cook 9-11 minutes until toasted and crunchy.
For the Apple Pie Topping
- Combine all ingredients in pan.
- Cook on medium heat, stirring occasionally, until apples are cooked and a sticky sauce forms, about 12-15 minutes.
For the Oats
- Combine oats, water, cinnamon, cloves, and salt in pan.
- Bring to boil, reduce heat, and simmer until mixture reaches desired consistency and oats are cooked, about 3-5 minutes.
- Stir in maple syrup.
- Serve oats immediately with apple pie topping and chopped pecans. Add milk of your choice for extra creaminess and drizzle with maple syrup for a little extra sweetness!
Notes
- To make sure the recipe comes together quickly and easily, start with the pecans; then get the apple pie topping going before starting the oats.
- Make larger batches for a week’s worth of breakfasts!
