Ingredients

Scale

Oats

  • 1C rolled oats
  • 2C water
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp cloves
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 Tbsp maple syrup (added after cooking)

Apple Pie Topping

  • 2 fuji apples, chopped
  • ½ C golden raisins
  • 3 Tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp cloves
  • pinch of salt

Pecans

  • ½ C Pecans, chopped

Instructions

For the Pecans

  1. Preheat oven to 350F.
  2. Spread chopped pecans on baking sheet; cook 9-11 minutes until toasted and crunchy.

For the Apple Pie Topping

  1. Combine all ingredients in pan.
  2. Cook on medium heat, stirring occasionally, until apples are cooked and a sticky sauce forms, about 12-15 minutes.

For the Oats

  1. Combine oats, water, cinnamon, cloves, and salt in pan.
  2. Bring to boil, reduce heat, and simmer until mixture reaches desired consistency and oats are cooked, about 3-5 minutes.
  3. Stir in maple syrup.
  4. Serve oats immediately with apple pie topping and chopped pecans. Add milk of your choice for extra creaminess and drizzle with maple syrup for a little extra sweetness!

Notes

  1. To make sure the recipe comes together quickly and easily, start with the pecans; then get the apple pie topping going before starting the oats.
  2. Make larger batches for a week’s worth of breakfasts!
