We originally created this insanely easy crock-pot buffalo chicken dip for a superbowl party, and having eaten it multiple times since, I can assure you that this dip is seriously addictive and ridiculously simple to make. Of course most of the time, buffalo sauce consists of about equal parts hot sauce and butter or margarine… not my fave combo for overall healthiness, so for this dip we traded the butter for thick, rich, creamy Greek yogurt, leaving us with a delicious buffalo sauce flavor but with a lighter, healthier twist.
Well, after another holiday season of far too much sugar and nonexistent workout habits, I’m ready to start this new year off with simpler, healthier eating in mind. To that end, I know that my sweet tooth tends to get cranky if ignored too long, and I find that my willpower alone puts up a rather pathetic fight. Instead, I know I absolutely must keep healthier (but still delicious) treats on hand to satisfy those dessert cravings.
After years of slowly improving my eating habits and consciously working to make better choices, I know that eating super salty or sugary snacks leads to feeling terrible not long after. Of course, this leaves us needing to find or make healthier snacks options because after a while, snacking only on fresh fruit, while healthy and tasty, gets old, and I crave variety!
